The brief
Lyndsay Gardner from Rottingdean was preparing for a charity trek along the Great Wall of China in support of CoppaFeel!, a cause she had championed since completing a 100km Sahara crossing with the charity in 2022. As part of her wider fundraising campaign, she organised a 90s disco night at Saltdean Lido and brought in Good Frequency to handle the production, DJ set, and promotional build-up.
What we did
Good Frequency delivered the complete event: PA setup, full three-hour DJ set under the DJ Atomix name, poster and banner design, Facebook and Instagram ad campaign, and organic community group promotion across Brighton and Hove.
Tickets were sold through Ticket Tailor at £20 per head, with a raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses and a cash prize on the night. A purpose-built song request system let guests pay via Stripe and submit requests directly to the DJ. All submissions arrived in real time on an iPad at the decks, prioritised by tier, from a standard request at £3 through to a £30 Take the Decks slot.
“I was impressed with the professionalism and dedication to getting the event just right. On the night, the dance floor was filled throughout, a great vibe with some great tunes, floor fillers and requests too. The event was a huge success. We raised £2,500 for breast cancer, which couldn’t have happened without a fantastic DJ. We would use this company again and highly recommend for your next event.”
The result
The night raised £2,500 for CoppaFeel!, a significant contribution toward Lyndsay’s £4,000 personal fundraising target for the China trek. Pre-event Argus coverage and a targeted paid social campaign drove good local ticket sales, and the dancefloor stayed full for the full three hours.
